Mono Lake is in the Eastern Sierras, just west of Yosemite. It was drained to supply water for Los Angeles and is now, as a result of conservationist legal action, being refilled. It is an ecological and photographic wonder. This image was made with my 4x5 early, on a very cold morning in December 2006 with the added vision of Jack Dykinga.
